December 4 2020
Re: December 4 2020
Did they say anything about season length? How many games and if there will be fans in attendance? This would make a big difference in the cost and if the NHL will subsidize the AHL teams. They could have 1/4 fans in the arena and that might help.

I don't think anything is clear yet...

They have specifically stated that they want fans in arenas, but that will be up to local regulations. That is a big part of the reason for the delay until February. They believe that more cities/states will allow fans at that point. As far as length, they have only said a shortened season.

The biggest thing I got out of it, is that they need fans in the stands to be able to play. He said Milwaukee wants as many fans as possible, but could work with a 25% or 50% capacity limit. But as of now the city of Milwaukee limits to 10 people.

As much as we'd like to see a season, I don't know if it's possible. I hope I am wrong.

I have no idea how credible this site is. But they say the ahl will play a 44 game season starting february 5th and ending may 30th. Also says ALL games will be played within division. And, the NHL will have a taxi squad, taking 4 AHL level players with them. https://russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2 ... -5-report/

I would think we should hear something soon in regards to schedules soon if this is actually going to happen 2/5. Getting pretty close

Re: December 4 2020
The echl schedule didnt come out until about a week before the season started, and that was only the first months schedule. The full schedule still isn't out. I wouldn't expect the AHL to have a schedule yet. They still need to determine if all of the teams will even play. So far, every minor league that has played in any sport this year. has had several teams opt out for the year. Scheduling is a nightmare
