Talk about the Chicago Wolves, the AHL, and other hockey in general here. Not hockey? Head outside to The Great Outdoors.

The article doesn't go in depth with that, mostly just lays out the public quotes and facts, and then does a summary reading of the tea leaves at the end.
“We won a championship in Charlotte last year, and all was good. We sat down in January and tried to make a deal to move this forward and it wasn’t there to be, for me at this point,” Waddell said. “Then the season dragged on, and then (the season paused because of COVID-19), it got to a point where we had to look at our other options —
It makes sense for both sides to seek stability amidst a situation in which we aren’t sure if minor league sports will be played at all in the upcoming season. I have reached out to a few neutral league sources asking for their opinions on the Hurricanes-Wolves affiliation and I’m being met with a lot of “… assuming the AHL has a season” caveats. Folks are operating as if it’s going to happen, but aren’t treating it as a definite. It’s fair to wonder.
So Charlotte might have been looking for a reduction in their fee (if they had one? Not sure what their agreement was), or a refund check to help cover the costs of the franchise during this pandemic. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They've been slowly building a nice regional base there. They just got an ECHL team in South Carolina too.
say what? greenville has had a team for 18 of the last 22 seasons (last 10 in a row) and the stingrays are going on year 28 of their franchise.....i'd say that a little more than slowly building a fan base or just getting a team.
Right, but their affiliation with the Hurricanes started just in the last year or two. The Hurricanes organization had a stated goal of bringing their affiliates into their region to try and help build up their regional fan base.
Sorry I didn't fully spell that out. I thought it was obvious and self explanatory.
Lol, typical bullshit nitpicking. The reason i rarely post here. Nowhere did it say that South Carolina just got an echl team. It said they (the hurricanes) just got an echl team in south carolina.
They could have meant multiple things. It could have been taken as Carolina, the ECHL itself or reference to the state. So bite me.
Re-read how you typed it a few times and you might understand it. Especially for those who don't follow the ECHL in any way, shape or form. But hey, nitpick that guy.
Nope not mad. Just tired of dealing with an immature manchild asshole, with a superiority complex
take a look in the mirror guy. you're the one who got all butthurt and offended because what you said could mean multiple different things and chose to ignore it when it was pointed out to you. god forbid everyone doesn't kiss your ass and play paddycake to soothe your emotional well being.
go cry to your mommy cause she might care. otherwise suck it up and deal with it.
