Jack LaFontaine

Talk about the Chicago Wolves, the AHL, and other hockey in general here. Not hockey? Head outside to The Great Outdoors.

Jack LaFontaine

Help in goal is on the way. Hurricanes #1 draft pick from 2016 leaves Golden Gophers early. Just assigned to the Wolves per AHL transactions.

It seems like they want him on the canes. I wouldn't expect him to be here long. But, I guess we will have to wait and see.

According to AHL transactions he's coming here.

If he's not though, we should get Lyon back.

Taxi squad players are technically considered to be AHL players, so I'm not sure how to take the given information. I hope I'm wrong and we do see him

He has now disappeared from the AHL transactions. We will probably find out in warm ups tomorrow night who will be in net.

I can't see the Cains playing him in the NHL without him doing at least a year in the AHL. That is a big ask for him to go from college to the NHL. Usually goalies don't jump into the NHL until they are at least 25 of so. I say usually because there are exceptions. I expect he will be in a wolves sweater for at least a season with call ups as needed.

The canes are desperate for a backup at the moment. I agree that it isn't ideal. But, I wouldn't be surprised if the canes brought him up temporarily.

They brought him to the NHL when they sent Lyon back
